Millwork Frequently Asked Questions
CTI manufactures plywood, boards (S3S, S1S2E cedar, shiplap), profiles (casing, baseboard, crown molding), and smalls (base shoe, quarter round, dowels). All products are available in a range of species, grades, and finishes. Custom profiles and private-label programs are available for OEM customers.
CTI's primary millwork substrate is finger-jointed Radiata Pine, which offers consistent grain, excellent paintability, and dimensional stability. We also produce products in Taeda Pine, Falcata, Java Hardwood, and LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) depending on application requirements. Cedar is available for exterior applications.
Yes. CTI's Vindex® is a proprietary finish formulated to enhance the resilience and appearance of millwork profiles. Vindex® provides excellent protection against moisture, wear, and UV exposure while delivering a flawless, consistent surface that's ready for paint or installation.
Standard lengths vary by product type. Casing and base shoe are typically available in 7-foot and 8-foot lengths. Crown molding and boards are typically available in 12-foot and 16-foot lengths. Custom lengths are available through CTI's mill programs for customers with specific project requirements.
Yes. CTI offers custom profile grinding for OEM and private-label customers who require proprietary shapes. Our team works from provided drawings or samples to develop matched tooling and produce profiles at production scale. Contact our sales team to discuss minimum quantities and lead times for custom profile programs.
CTI employs on-site quality engineers at all owned and affiliated mills who oversee production, conduct real-time inspection, and manage compliance with CTI's internal quality standards and customer-specific requirements. Every order is supported by clear reporting that provides visibility into production status and quality checkpoints throughout the fulfillment process.
