Introducing CTI Plywood: Built for the Demands of Modern Millwork

CTI is adding plywood to its lineup. If you know how CTI approaches everything else we make, you already know the thinking behind it. This isn't commodity panel stock sourced on price and shipped with its fingers crossed. CTI Birch Plywood is built for shops and dealers who can't afford surprises: every sheet is produced under CTI's quality systems so the material arrives exactly as ordered, machines clean, finishes well, and keeps projects on schedule.
For anyone who has opened a bundle of plywood and found warped sheets, hollow cores, or thickness that wanders from panel to panel, that promise is the whole point. Here's what the new line is, how it's graded, and where it fits.

A Birch-Faced Panel, Two Ways
CTI Birch Plywood pairs a birch face with a solid hardwood core, offered in two grades so you can match the panel to the job rather than overpaying for face quality you'll never see.
C/2 Birch — Finish grade. A clean, consistent face for any surface that will be seen, painted, or finished. It's the right choice for cabinetry, furniture, shelving, and exposed millwork where appearance carries the work.
D/E Birch — Economical grade. A value-grade panel with the same core construction and structural performance as C/2, but a more natural face appearance. It's built for the places nobody sees: underlayment, drawer bottoms, cabinet backs, packaging and crating, and hidden structural parts.
The key detail is that the two grades differ in face, not in bones. D/E gives up nothing structurally, so you can spec the finish grade where it shows and the economical grade where it doesn't, without worrying that the hidden panels are somehow weaker.
Built to Behave the Same Way Every Time
The features that matter in plywood are the ones you notice only when they're missing. CTI engineers them in:
Stays flat, stays put. Veneers are conditioned for seven days at 8–12% moisture and re-checked after pressing, so panels stay dimensionally stable and resist warping after install.
Consistent thickness, panel after panel. Every sheet is calibrated to within 0.2 mm and verified at six to eight points, so material machines predictably and lies flat.
A solid, uniform core with real screw-holding. Veneer gaps and core separation are repaired before pressing—no voids, hollow spots, or weak edges—so fasteners bite and hold.
Bonds that don't let go. A controlled 300–330 g/m² glue spread, measured on every panel and set through multi-stage pressing, guards against delamination in the field.
Smooth, finish-ready surfaces. Two-stage sanding leaves an even face that takes paint and laminate cleanly, with less prep at the bench.
Lightweight and easy to machine. Lower panel weight means easier handling and lower installed cost—without giving up strength.
Read those together and a pattern emerges: predictability. A panel that's flat, consistent in thickness, void-free, and finish-ready is a panel that behaves the same way on the tenth sheet as it did on the first. That's what lets a millwork shop run tight tolerances without babysitting the material.

Responsibly Sourced, Independently Verified
Sourcing and compliance aren't afterthoughts on this line. CTI Birch Plywood meets CARB Phase 2 and EPA TSCA formaldehyde-emission standards, carries ISO 45001-2018 (occupational health and safety) alongside PEFC and FSC chain-of-custody criteria. For customers who have to answer to their own specifiers, builders, and regulators, those certifications do real work. They turn "trust us" into documented proof.
Where CTI Plywood Fits
Because it spans two grades and a wide size range, the line covers a lot of ground: cabinet and furniture builds, shelving, fixtures, drawer boxes, underlayment, and the exposed interior molding and trim and casework where a clean birch face matters. For wholesale millwork buyers, it also slots neatly into CTI's single-source model: the same partner already supplying your boards, profiles, and door components can now supply the panel stock beside them, on one order and one quality standard.
Adding plywood is a natural extension of what CTI has always done in the building products industry: take a product that's usually bought on price and re-engineer it around consistency, so the people building with it stop losing time to surprises.
